Second Highest Hari Parbat Peak in Domel Shounter Valley
Hari Parbat is a vertical rocky mountain in Neelum valley Azad Kashmir. it is located near famous tourist attraction Chitta Katha Lake. It is the local name of the stream coming down from the Hari Parbat originating from the lake called Chitta Katha Lake (Chitta Katha Sar) or lake of the Mount Hari parbat.
Hari Parbat 5000 m is a prominent peak in heavenly Shounter valley ( sub valley of Neelum valley). it can be seen from Dak2 (Deck2) trek to Chitta Katha lake and upper Domel (Domail) sub valley of Shounter (Shountar/Shuanter) valley.
it is high elevation peak in Shounter valley and second highest peak in Neelum valley Azad Kashmir Pakistan. Hari Parbat can be approached from kel to Shounter to domel bala about 20 km through motorcycle/jeeps and then 5 km trekking by foot.
This Mountain is sacred for some people who relate it to Lord Shiva and consider it abode of the Lord and identify it as Kailash. in the north of Hari Parbat , there is Shounter Gali (Shounter Top or Shounter Pass) this pass connect Shounter valley Azad Kashmir to Morcha Guzair Astore district Gilgit Baltistan.
