Hidden Thirpal Dam/Ban Ameer Khatoon Dam in Chakwal District Punjab

One of the many dams in my beloved city, this lovely hidden dam is located near Dhok Bin Amir Khatun/Dhok Ban Ameer Khatoon , a historic village on Choa Saiden Shah road. Dhok Ban Ameer Khatoon is famous for different types of fossils have been discovered. In addition to human remains, there are extinct species of dinosaurs, the apes, monkeys and elephants.

It has many name Tharpal/Thirpal Dam or Bin Amir Khatun Dam/ Ban Ameer Khatoon dam as compared to nearby villages and you will find it by the same name Thirpal Dam on Google Map. it is also famous with name Ban Ameer Khatoon lake

The dam on a hill place, is a great place to irrigate the area as well as for tourism because a beautiful view of mountain around it. The unique thing about this dam is its standing water, instead of being in the form of a large reservoir that stretches from left to right like the branches of a tree between them due to the natural texture of the surrounding mountains. It is fed up by a nature stream coming down from the mountain near it and can also be seen from Dam.

It is accompanied by a vast forest from which dinosaur remains were found, but proper guidance is required to roam in these forests.

Dam is located in the Southern part of the beautiful Chakwal city. To reach here, one comes from Chakwal city on Choa Saiden Shah road and turns to near village Dhok ban ameer khatoon .The dam can be easily reached by car or motorbike, at the end of the road is rough which is not difficult to go except on rainy days. The distance of the dam from the Chakwal district is 30 km.

In the western of Thirpal dam a beautiful Khokhar-Zer Dam/Bunha Dam and in the East North of Thirpal dam there is two beautiful Kot Raja Dam and Dhok Tallian Dam/Dhoke Tahlian Dam , it is another beautiful dam on a beautiful surrounding view on Choa Saiden Shah road and Khanpur road in Chakwal district.
