Fort Munro Hill Station Southern Punjab
Fort Munro is a Murree in southern Punjab. only hill station in southern Punjab where the weather is pleasant and cool all year. This year, it has been snowing for one day. Crossing the Rakhi Gorge from Dera Ghazi Khan, the boundary of Balochistan begins a little further. Fort Munro hill station is located at an elevation 1,972 m in Koh-e-Sulaiman mountain range.
Due to being the main trade route, heavy traffic between Dera Ghazi Khan and Quetta . But in the past Fort Munro the roads and turns were very narrow, causing accidents and vehicle damage most often. To facilitate heavy traffic, a project completed in collaboration with Japan to built many steel bridge and wide road to wonderful look. Now the time become shorter using modern architecture innovative technologies to construct steel bridge and new road style to give a wonderful scene on Koh-e-Sulaiman mountain range.
Munro a popular hill station in the summer visited many tourist annually. Now tourism authority working on different project like installation of chairlift, park and hotel to give a new look to increase tourist in this hill area.
How to go Fort Munro hill station Dera Ghazi Khan Punjab:
Travel on car or local bus to reach Dera ghazi khan from Islamabad.
travel to Fort Munro on National highway 70 from Dera ghazi khan to Quetta road.
1.5 hours to reach Fort Munro.
