In Neelan Bhoto the legendary Sufi saint, Hazrat Bari Imam (1617–1705) spent considerable time meditating in one of the caves on the bank of the river. During his years here he had no company except the fish in the river. After completing his meditation he forbade his followers from fishing from this river, and since then, no one has.
